about the sculpture:
Sculpture created by P Pougaridis, one of the most important emerging Greek sculptors.
This is a totally handmade and unique sculpture. The artist uses brass and zinc as well as recyclable metal parts that are welded with each other by the use of a hand tool called soldering iron.
The sculpture has an inbuilt, light mechanism with a led light bulb, thus creating a very inspirational atmosphere in a place when the lights go off.

Pougaridis is a passionate self-taught artist who is based in Thessaloniki, the second biggest city of Greece.
The artist considers ships as a timeless symbol of adventure, change and aspiration.
